Activist Open Mic
November 28, 2013ation
I attended an Activist Open Mic at Wasted Space (a bodega in Oshawa). Sammy hosted the event and gave a speech on sustainable living. The next speaker was Kyle – who was advocating the end to prohibition of marijuana. I spoke next about ‘the art of activism’ being the power knowledge and self-realization of your God-given-rights-and-freedoms to be human, and being human is to be emotional, because you have desires to have a good-life, and you are the only one who can give yourself one; and challenges are necessary to give value to your accomplishments. The next two presenters were advocating the end to legislation of breed specific dog ownership; it feels like government has legitimize eugenics on pitbulls. Walter of Brainfeed.ca filmed the whole event, and I will post the video as soon as Walter uploads the finished video. Below is my speech I read:
The art of activism
Is the knowledge of who you are spiritually, your relationship to nature and mankind, and how you can influence your reality; it is a story of culture and language; which are your habits of thought and how are you sharing it;
Having resistance is detrimental to change, because it focuses on the negative, and no matter how angry you get – the opposing force will get just as angry, and nothing is resolved;
Understanding the root of discontentment is the way to diagnose the disease, and cure it; your energy is more productive creating the change you want to see than fighting to change something you are not; so don’t just stay angry and wanting a system to change for you – just do your own thing, and know who you really are;
We are emotional-beings and we all have our unique gifts that help us experience a highest standard of living; and yes life is a challenge, and it has to be to find ‘glory in the struggle’; we are all human-beings – there is no class, expect the one you chose to agree to; so are what are you contracting too?
This life is about living, learning, and growing; educating yourself is a choice, and asking questions gains more knowledge; yet if you can’t think for yourself – you are enslave consciously, and being deceive is your fault, and that presumption is what is keeping a lot of humanity detached from being true to who we are;
So do you feel this awing discontentment of not being allow the God-give rights and freedoms to be an authentic human-being and pursue happiness without alienation; if you don’t know it – than you have no rights and freedoms to defend;
That is why free school movements are popping up, because society is organic and changing from accepting a co-dependency to being interdependent – pro-social, so everyone has their own opportunity to have a good life; because nobody is going to give you a good life, you have to earn it, so you know its value; and you have to know who you really are.
